Making braided bracelets is so darn hard. I try'd using @AisforAnika's bracelet tutorial and I did try making some with cotton strands, but I made them too short or something else went wrong. I will try again another day. Here is the link for Anika's tutorial http://www.classettes.com/.
I used some chenille threads called 'Spruce' and incorporated some old beads I had including 'Gold Stone'. I got the Gold stone from a Bead fair that happens in Penriths 'Reged Centre'. I am actually going there next month for the fair http://www.rheged.com/craft-and-bead-fair. Even though the bracelets didn't turn out the way I thought they would, I actually really enjoy wearing them as they are so soft and tactile.

Aww, I like these super much :) I have never seen anything quite like this before, especially the materials used. Clever lady!
ReplyDeleteOoo, i love the soft fuzzy look of the chenille! They are so pretty. I had thought of incorporating some beads with the second style of bracelets I shared. Seeing yours makes me think I should try it out sooner rather than later!
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry you had a hard time w/ making a bracelet from my tutorial. Was there anything that wasn't as clear as it could have been? If you have any questions, or need clarification, please do ask!! :)
These are so beautiful. I love the softness and the colors, too. That bead fair sounds fabulous! Look forward to seeing what else you make!
ReplyDeleteAnika your tutorial is awesome, just my hands couldn't get to grip with it. But I will not be defeated. Your tutorial inspired me :)
