I bought a few things this week from my charity shop as usual and also received some goodies in the post. Firstly I got this amazing zine from @Luke Waller, he was giving a few away and I was one of the lucky people to get one ;) My favourite illustration has to be the God like, beardy guy holding the pack of cards. Thank you so much Luke you are such a talented guy.
All the way from sunny California via Team Blue Bicycle on Etsy, I bought a miniature Accordion book with some of the most interesting and quirky illustrations throughout. I have bought a few times from this wonderful shop and I always get a little freebie (which you can see below called 'Ones are nervous'). WIN!!!!
The rest of the photos show my charity shop buys. Most of which I found in a house clearance I was involved in. It was quite an experience, though it felt a little bit like I was intruding. The couple who lived here have moved to a retirement home, so sad :(
Everything cost me £3 in total.
Peter Pan postage stamps.
2x Observers books
3x volumes on birds from the 1950's, which have many wonderful Thomas Bewick engravings in them. I was just going to buy these and my colleague had thrown them in the bin. I was like where the hell are my books. I saved them from the bin. I really worry about what gets thrown out in charity shops. It makes me so mad, especially as these books are so beautiful. They think I am mad at the shop buying things like this.
Vintage Die-cuts which I found in a bed drawer.
I bought this lovely thimble from another charity shop for 50p

Awesome! Love all the illustrations :D
ReplyDeleteWow, amazing finds again! It would be a very sad and strange experience to move out another person's possessions in that manner.
ReplyDeleteYou have quite an interesting collection Anna.
