Handmade Bracelets

Making braided bracelets is so darn hard. I try'd using @AisforAnika's bracelet tutorial and I did try making some with cotton strands, but I made them too short or something else went wrong. I will try again another day. Here is the link for Anika's tutorial http://www.classettes.com/.
I used some chenille threads called 'Spruce' and incorporated some old beads I had including 'Gold Stone'. I got the Gold stone from a Bead fair that happens in Penriths 'Reged Centre'. I am actually going there next month for the fair http://www.rheged.com/craft-and-bead-fair. Even though the bracelets didn't turn out the way I thought they would, I actually really enjoy wearing them as they are so soft and tactile.

Vintage finds

Last week my mum found a few a things around the house she didn't want anymore so she gave them to me instead. In the photo below: the glass holder with the leaves cut into it, is from my mum (I now put my bracelets in it). The piece behind is from my charity shop I got the other week for £1.25. It's such a beautiful amber colour.

Another glass piece my mum gave me which was her mums.....its so pretty in pink and holds all sorts of paper ephemera and other little trinkets.

My mum almost gave this away to charity without me seeing it. I just love how dinky it is and the poppies are so sweet.

I bought this a few weeks ago from another charity shop for 99p. Very Art Deco and again very dinky.

I bought this awesome tin off Etsy about 2 months ago for £3.00

Last year I went to a Vintage fair in Newcastle and saw these two ladies dressed in 1940's outfits selling all sorts of mixed cups and saucers. This lot cost me £10.00. I could not resist the prettiness. The piece of artwork behind it is one of my earlier drawings from last year, I really should do more of these. The vintage map in the background is of the Michigan State, again I bought this from Etsy, last year.

I hope you liked all my little finds :)
