Taupeiness

I can't believe I forgot to blog about this. I made this piece of embroidery at the beginning of the year and it has been in my drawer ever since. Smacks on the hand for not showing it earlier. I used quite neutral colours adding hints of blue and silver amongst brown, taupe and pale pink. I incorporated some lace and french knots here and there. I like to create these unusual shapes and never really knowing the outcome makes it exciting to make. It reminds me of the colours of sand and the sea sweeping it back and forth. Anyhooo hope you guys like this piece and let me know your thoughts.

    1. Thank you love, yes I should some for my shop, but I think the shapes would have to link more with my jewellery so they gel well together.

  2. I agree with Harriet, I think your embroidery stuff is amazing, possibly your best work. I would have thought it should sell well on various products, embroidered patches, clothes, bags etc :)

  10. So beautiful! I love the subtlety of the colours, and the unusual shape. I would genuinely love to have a piece like this hanging in my home one day, in an embroidery hoop :) I'll have to commission you when I move! X
