I've read this book once but I fell in love with it. 'The Valley of Secrets' is written by Charmian Hussey. Its about a young man named Stephen who was abandoned as a baby and gives up on the hope of ever finding his family. Out of the blue a letter arrives and takes him on a long journey from London to Cornwall. I can't tell you the rest otherwise it will spoil it, but I would definitely recommend this book. One tiny spoiler is that there is a really cute furry companion called 'Tig' in it. It is a beautiful and imaginative piece of writing with stunning illustrations and maps done by Christopher Crump. I have only just realised my book is a first edition, that is always a plus for me, that's put a big smile on my face.
